Copper cheese vat from France, late 19th century. Copper vats of this size were originally made to make cheese in so you could originally find them on dairy farms in the Alps and the Jura in particular. They make a wonderful water feature in a garden or indeed you could use them to plant in. This copper vat is fully watertight. Pop a simple water fountain mechanism in too for a bubbling feature in your garden.
